New research has highlighted that almost 9 in 10 businesses (89%) offer counselling, or access to counselling as part of their reward strategy.
The results suggest this is now the most popular benefit offering for UK organisations, with the number of organisations offering counselling increasing by 14% since 2019. Alongside counselling and employee assistance programs, other popular benefits were life assurance – provided by 82% of businesses, with childcare vouchers and cycle to work schemes offered by 70% of employers.
As the candidate shortage and ‘Great Resignation’ take hold in the UK, employers continue to assess their reward programs and respond to changes in order to build benefits schemes and meet employee demand.
Counselling, or access to counselling topping the list of benefit offerings comes as no surprise following the pandemic, and the spotlight the last 18 months have shone on not only mental health, but employee wellbeing as a whole.
In the past, salary has dominated applicant and employee priorities, but today the reassurance that they will be well looked after is becoming of increasing importance. Talk to advo today about designing, or re-designing a benefit offering for your employees.
