advo people, technology and approach to advice honoured at Health Insurance ‘Oscars’

At the annual Health Insurance awards advo were overall winners for the Innovation and impact by a Newcomer awards in addition to Private Clients being ‘Highly Commended’ by the judges.

The Health Insurance awards are an annual ‘black tie’ event held to recognise both the current ‘best’ insurers and intermediaries. The event is attended by over 900 industry leaders and professionals. This year’s event was held at London’s Grosvenor Hotel on Thursday 19 October and was hosted by Health Insurance Daily’s Editor, David Sawers and comedian and actor, Omid Djalili.

The winners are selected through a rigorous selection process and finally selected by an independent panel of leading industry figures.

advo picked up two of the prestigious awards for ‘The Intermediary Innovation Award and ‘Best Individual Impact by a Newcomer’.

Jamie Tuffield, who picked up the Innovation Award on behalf of advo, and Ellie Sultana who won the Impact by a Newcomer award are joined by Omid Djalili.

The Innovation Award was in recognition of advo’s approach to ensuring the best levels of management and employee access to benefits through in-house technology systems linked with ‘hands on’ professional staff.

On receiving the award on behalf of advo Jamie Tuffield saidadvo work hard to offer bespoke solution to our clients, everyday. Recognition from our peers as offering a truly innovative approach to benefits management is a badge of honour we are proud to have been awarded.

The other major award was given to Ellie Sultana for the ‘Best Impact by a Newcomer’ and is the only award given to an individual, not a company. Ellie was singled out for her career journey from administrator to account manager, the challenges she overcame and her approach to looking after clients during her two years with advo.

Ellie said of her winI’m extremely grateful to receive the nomination and recognition from my colleagues and I’m very proud to represent advo and their growing success.”

advo’s private Clients division was also recognised receiving a ‘highly Commended’ for the management of domestic private medical insurance policies. advo was also recognised as a finalist for how it manages corporate dental policies.

advo’s CEO commented “all at advo are delighted by the wide scope of recognition received at the Health Insurance awards. It is very pleasing to see both our people and our approach to using technology honoured. “
