Local food businesses given a safe hand

 

Safety experts in North Wales will be giving businesses in the food and drink industry advice on how to cut accidents and ill-health at work, at an event later this month. The Institution of Occupational Safety and Health’s (IOSH) North Wales Branch is also offering local businesses the opportunity to boost their efficiency and profitability by learning how to correctly comply with simple health and safety measures. Lawrence Bamber, chair of the IOSH North Wales branch said: “This isn’t about creating more red tape for businesses; it’s simply about educating people in the food and drink industry and showing them how adopting simple, yet effective occupational health and safety strategies can be beneficial to business and their workforce.”

Held in conjunction with IOSH Food and Drink Group and the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), this seminar is free to all who have an active interest in occupational safety and health.

The event will address some of the hot topics within the food and drink industry and discuss the HSE’s Recipe for Safety project, and is set to take place on Thursday 21 February, at Deeside College from 13:30 until 16:00.
