The Leadership Trust and CMI (the Chartered Management Institute) are pleased to announce a new partnership which will give The Leadership Trust’s delegates and alumni the opportunity to attain Chartered Manager status, the professional standard for managers and leaders. The agreement was signed by The Leadership Trust’s Chief Executive Rob Noble and CMI Chief Executive Ann Francke. The ability for delegates and alumni to apply for Chartered Manager will complement The Leadership Trust’s existing range of leadership courses, and reflects demand from learners and employers for recognition of the professional competence and workplace impact of high-calibre managers.
It follows research which has shown that Chartered Managers add as much as £362,000 of value to their employers by delivering performance improvements, significant savings, or by implementing product and service innovation. Some 93% of Chartered Managers report increased self awareness as a result of achieving Chartered status, with 86% reporting increased self confidence in their roles – key traits for delivering effective 21st century leadership.
Rob Noble said: “I am delighted that The Leadership Trust and CMI are working together to offer access to Chartered Manager status. This provides a unique recognition of a manager’s impact at work and it complements our programmes perfectly. We look forward to offering it to learners and our network of 45,000 alumni from this autumn.”
Ann Francke, CMI Chief Executive, said: “We’re delighted to be working with The Leadership Trust to offer Chartered Manager to its learners and alumni. Becoming Chartered is a brilliant way to develop the leadership traits that are most needed to ensure the success of our businesses, public services and voluntary organisations alike in the 21st century. Chartered Managers sign up to high ethical standards, they are committed to personal development, they have the self-awareness needed to lead teams effectively, and they have a proven track record of delivering results. We look forward to welcoming new Chartered Managers to CMI and to supporting them in their development.”
Richard Attwood, Co-ordinator of CMI’s Hereford and Worcester Network – which ran the joint event with the Leadership Trust – said: “CMI’s Hereford and Worcester Network is a great asset for managers in the area, whatever their sector. We support their professional development by providing a space for members to network, to share experiences and to learn from the expertise of their counterparts in other businesses. I’m delighted that the Leadership Trust is working so closely with CMI and we look forward to working with managers across the local area in future.”
