Bin the Booze this October

beerForget alcohol-free days, Macmillan Cancer Support is challenging the UK to Go Sober for a whole month this October. Whatever your motivation – health, wealth or happiness – we could all benefit from some alcohol abstinence in our lives.

So, swap your gin for a juice this autumn and raise money to help people affected by cancer.

Go Sober for October runs from 1st – 31st October 2015 and requires nothing more than a strong willpower and supportive friends and family to sponsor you.

If you have a special occasion and fancy a night off from the challenge, worry not: you or your friends and family can buy you a ‘Golden Ticket’ for £15 through your very own fundraising page.

To get involved, simply sign up on, create your fundraising page, and prepare for smug sobriety.

Now in its third year, Macmillan is hoping the fundraising challenge will beat the £4 million raised in 2014. By taking part in Go Sober for October you will help Macmillan provide practical, medical and financial support for people affected by cancer so no one faces cancer alone.

Head to to find out more, sign up, and get hints and tips on how to complete the challenge.
